Your healthcare provider may use the Tempus genetic test to help personalize your mental health treatment plan, based on your genes. Your results may show: Gene-drug interactions for 100+ medications Summary of your current medications Easy-to-read, actionable report so your healthcare provider has information that may help select the medication that’s the best fit for you
Collection Process
The sample can be collected in two ways: in the clinic with your provider, or at home if ordered by your provider. The test will take about 5-10 minutes to complete, from start to finish. Detailed instructions for the saliva collection are provided once your healthcare provider orders the test.
Cost
Insurance coverage can vary greatly by plan. To help patients feel comfortable knowing what they may owe, Tempus performs a benefit check for every patient who selects to use commercial insurance to better understand whether their insurance will cover Tempus testing and what the patient may owe out-of-pocket.
Medciare Coverage
Patients with original Medicare, standard Medicaid and Managed Medicaid can typically expect to pay $0 for their test, subject to usual plan rules.
Financial Assistance
Tempus offers financial assistance for patients in financial need to help further reduce cost.
